Signing Up for Stack Events

Whether you’re an admin launching your program or a student joining your class for the first time, this guide will walk you through how to create your Stack Events account and get started.

For Admins:

If you’re a media teacher, advisor, or program lead, after purchasing your stack events module we will create it for you and send you a welcome email with the proper login credentials for your new Stack site.

How to sign up as an admin:

  1. Visit stack.events

  2. Click Get Started

  3. Select the plan that fits your program

  4. Complete the registration + checkout form

Once subscribed, you’ll receive all of the following in a welcome email:

  • Your own Stack Events instance (example: yourname.stack.events)

  • Admin login credentials

  • Full access to your dashboard, including:

    • User management

    • Events and submissions

    • Media tools

    • Equipment Checkout (if included in your plan)

    • Dev tools

If you’ve already subscribed, simply go to your custom URL and log in.

Note: Only admins can "create" new Stack instances. Students must sign up using their teacher’s or advisor’s link.

For Students

Students do not sign up at stack.events. Instead, your teacher or advisor will give you your program’s unique link — for example:

How to start:

  1. Open the link from your teacher

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the login screen

  3. Click Sign Up

This takes you to the official registration form for your school.

Creating Your Student Account

After clicking Sign Up, follow these steps:

1. Enter your school email

Use the email your teacher imported into the system. (Usually your school-issued email but can vary depending on what your teacher imported.)

2. Create your password

On the signup page enter in a strong password that you will remember this will be used to login to your account forever.

3. Check your inbox

You’ll receive a verification email. Click the confirmation link to continue. (If you don't see the email in your inbox make sure to check your spam or junk folder.)

4. Verify your account (Name and Class)

After verifying your email, you’ll be asked to enter your first and last name and select a class. Make sure to type in your full name and for class you’ll see a dropdown to choose your class or course. After completing the form, you’ll be taken directly to your student dashboard.

Having Trouble Signing Up?

Here’s what to check:

  • Make sure the link ends in .stack.events

  • Ask your teacher if your email has been imported

  • Confirm you’re using your school email or the one imported by your advisor, not a personal one.

  • Check your spam folder for the verification email.
